MU graduate Benjamin Herrold of Gilman City (GCHS Class of 2005) offers a look at the Mizzou Tiger football team that contrasts from others predicting a dropoff from last year’s success. Here’s what Herrold has to say:

Mildred Lambert 1913-2009

Funeral services for Mildred Lambert were held on Aug. 18, at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe. Inez Riddell 1913-2009

A celebration of the life of Inez Riddell was held Aug. 17, at Poland-Thompson Chapel, Cameron. Burial was at Cameron Memory Gardens. The family request that donations be made to the Cameron United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron.

Ivan Earl Read 1921-2009

Funeral services for Ivan Earl Read were held Saturday, Aug. 15, at Roberson Funeral Home in Gilman City. Burial with military rites was in Pilot Grove No. 1 Cemetery of Gilman City. The season record was 30-10 for the 8 and Under Northwest Vipers Machine Pitch Baseball Team. The team received first place at the Hawaiian Hitfest and Father’s Day Special; second place at the USSSA AA World Series, USSSA Missouri AA State Tournament, Golden Glove Tournament and Spring Fling Tournament; fourth place at the Cowtown Showdown; and fifth place at the Memorial Day Classic.
