With the loss of five starters from last season’s 19-8, district champion squad, the Lady Bulldogs must find a way to replace the missing 57 percent of last season’s hit total, 60 percent of 2008 runs scored total and 77 percent of last year’s rbi total.
That being said, the Lady Bulldogs enter next Monday’s opener at Trenton with a short list of four experienced starters that includes Carly Boyd, Shelby Chadwick, Ashley Owens and Savannah Butcher.
Following Monday’s opener, the Lady Bulldogs will travel to Milan on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. start. Gallatin will participate in the Albany Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 29. Game times are 9 a.m. against Worth County and 1 p.m. against North Harrison. The tournament’s third and fifth place games will start at 3 p.m. The championship game is slated for 5 p.m.
