A celebration of the life of Inez Riddell was held Aug. 17, at Poland-Thompson Chapel, Cameron. Burial was at Cameron Memory Gardens. The family request that donations be made to the Cameron United Methodist Church. Arrangements were by Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron.

Inez Maurine Riddell died Aug. 13, 2009, on her 96th birthday.
Mrs. Riddell was born north of Cameron to Elmer and Blanche Madison, the second of six children.
She graduated from Cameron High School, Missouri Wesleyan College, and Northwest Missouri State University.

Mrs. Riddell taught in one-room rural schools prior to her marriage in 1942. While a homemaker and rearing two girls and twin boys, she taught church school, was a 4-H leader, and active in PTA. Later, she returned to teaching in Kidder, and then taught fourth grade for many years in Cameron.

Mrs. Riddell was an active member of the Cameron United Methodist Church, the Lydia Circle, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Community Workers Club (also attended by her mother), and was a life member of PTA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 2006; her son, Robert, in 1969; and her parents and siblings.

Survivors include her children, Joyce Schrimsher, Kansas City; Martha Scheer, Lee’s Summit; and Richard Riddell, Cleveland; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
