The Winston R-VI School Board reorganized with its new membership during the April meeting.
School Board Election results provided by the Daviess and DeKalb County Clerks were certified during the regular monthly meeting of the Winston R-6 Board of Education held April 15.
Cheryl Cornett was hired as the half time elementary principal during the regular meeting of the Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education held April 19.
Gregg Hartley was offered a part-time administrative contract for $10,500 for the 2010-2011 school year after returning from a closed session of the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education held April 13.
On April 16, the Gallatin FCCLA Chapter hosted a Community Blood Center mobile blood drive at GHS.
Mr. Ruse talked to the Gallatin R-5 Board of Education about school financing during the regular meeting held April 13.
In the Daviess County Circuit Court, Associate Division, a jury trial held April 20 for Elizabeth Mary Jonassen was declared a mistrial by Judge Daren Adkins at 3:36 p.m. The jury notified the judge of deadlocks at 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Jonassen was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest and escape from custody. The trial had begun at 8:30 a.m. and was submitted to the jury at 1:30 p.m. The case has been set for plea/trial setting on May 24.
The verdict is guilty on all counts for a man who was apprehended at Altamont in January 2009. Danial Rinehart, 49, was convicted of felony murder, child endangerment, statutory rape and two counts each of incest and abandonment of a corpse in a Cass County trial that concluded yesterday (April 20).

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that the following roadwork has been scheduled for Route B in Daviess County, weather permitting.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a contract to Loch Sand and Construction Company of Maryville for the replacement of the deck of the MO 13 bridge (over U.S. 36 at Hamilton) in the amount of $592,003.45.
