The bridge on MO 13 over U.S. 36, originally built in 1958, will have the existing deck completely removed and replaced, and sidewalks will be added to both sides of the bridge. The work is scheduled to begin June 1, 2010, with completion anticipated in late July. The bridge ramps will remain open throughout the project with brief closures to accommodate equipment. Traffic on U.S. 36 will be diverted to the ramps during the removal of the existing deck which will take place at night. Area residents should expect high levels of noise for approximately two nights.

The recommended detour will direct drivers southbound on MO 13 to Business 36, cross U.S. 36, and continue on Route P south to reconnect with MO 13 (a distance of approximately five miles). Northbound traffic should reverse the sequence. Message boards will be placed on eastbound U.S. 36 (west of Hamilton) to direct traffic to use Business 36 to access the town of Hamilton.
