Delta Rho celebrates Founder’s Day

Twelve members of the Laureate Delta Rho chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met on April 19 at a restaurant in Cameron to celebrate Founder’s Day. Members signed up for program and hosting duties for the coming year. The next meeting will be on May 3 at the home of Carol Wood. Barbara Irby will have the program.

Bob Rogers, pending

Services are pending for George Robert (Bob) Rogers, Jr., at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Mr. Rogers’ full obituary will appear in next week’s paper.

Five generations of Gannan family

Kirk Gannan, son of Kyle and Brandy Gannan of Gallatin, is the newest addition to this five generation family. Pictured is Kirk being held by his father, Kyle. Cecil Hobbs 1930-2010

Memorial services for Cecil Hobbs were held Sunday at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton. Cremains will be buried at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton.

James Christopher 1924-2010

Funeral services for James Christopher were held Sunday, April 25, at the United Methodist Church of Jamesport. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery of Jamesport. City crews gear up for summer

During their regular meeting held April 26, Teddy Holcomb told the Gallatin Board of Aldermen that city crews are going to be working on getting the pool ready, hauling sludge from the sewer plant, and a street plan for the summer.

Trial set in case against Gallatin Sale Barn

A bench trial has been set for July 14, 2010, in a case brought by the State of Missouri, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Missouri Clean Water Commission against Daniel F. Froman and the Gallatin Livestock Auction.

Two GJH track and field records fall

In addition to Kaitlyn McNeely’s new Gallatin Junior High pole vault record of 7’6", the 1600-meter relay team of Kailey Salmon, Kailey Elbert, Kaitlyn Hefley and Sara Lin set a new school record of 4:36.29 at Tuesday’s Trenton Relays, breaking the old record of 4:37.29 set in 2005 by then junior high Courtney Ray, Casey Sweatman, Kaddie Mott and Tye Humphrey. Shelby Chadwick held the previous GJH pole vault record of 7′.

The JH Lady Bulldogs finished first out of 18 teams at Trenton. Results will appear in next week’s issue.
