Nineteen University of Missouri Extension 4-H youth from the Northwest Region, including Danielle Ness of Daviess County, attended a Teen Leadership Retreat held in St. Joseph on Nov. 16-17.

The Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education discussed football co-oping during their regular meeting held Wednesday, Nov. 21, and determined that co-oping is not an option at this time because the Albany school board rejected a proposal made by R-2 and the King City school board tabled the issue.
The owner of Northwest Missouri Title Company LLC in Gallatin, Dawn Renee Harpster, 38, of Kidder, plead guilty on a plea agreement in the Western District of Missouri today to five counts of bank fraud for illegal land transactions in Daviess County.
Gallatin’s junior varsity basketball games scheduled with Princeton on Monday, Dec. 3, have been postponed. A makeup date will be announced at a later date.
GHS varsity basketball games at East Buchanan have been rescheduled for Thursday, Dec. 20. The teams will play two quarters of junior varsity girls, two quarters of jayvee boys, then varsity girls and boys. The first game starts at 5 p.m.

Edgar M Muller 89, of Gallatin, passed away Nov. 22, 2007 at Shirkey’s Care Center in Richmond, Mo. Services were held Nov. 25 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Family visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Interment was at Lick Fork Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gallatin United Methodist Church, Lick Fork Cemetery Association or the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation.
Winners and losers bracket pairings are set after opening round play in the 31st Annual Gallatin Invitational Basketball Tournament.
County Commission
James Lewis, bridge supervisor, met with the commission regarding equipment repairs. He reported that they are completing repairs to a bridge in Jefferson township that had been damaged by a vehicle.
A benefit fish fry will be held for the family of the late Roger Loxterman from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, at the Gallatin Bingo Hall. Free-will donations accepted. A silent auction will precede the event.
The Gallatin Board of Aldermen approved the purchase of a 2003 one-and-a-half ton bucket truck in the amount of $42,500 for the city during their regular meeting held Monday, Nov. 26.
Laureate Delta Rho, Beta Sigma Phi, will hold their 2007 Gallatin Holiday Homes Tour from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. The homes tour benefits community projects and the Jean Groom Memorial Scholarship. Homes may be toured in any order.
This semester, Mrs. Kim Brammer’s enrichment students have been studying global issues. One of the global issues they focused on was poverty.
Lawsuits involving former Kansas City priests accused of molesting young men over the span of several decades, at church rectories and at a home at Lake Viking near Gallatin, are moving toward trial.
Deer totals for our county, the Northwest Region and the state dropped between this year and last, according to Daviess County Conservation Agent Alan Bradford. But neither the number of deer nor the number of hunters was the cause.

Funeral services for Herbert Whitt were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the First Christian Church, Gallatin. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Arrangements were by McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church Building Fund.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Grand River Cemetery near Jameson.
