The Gallatin Board of Aldermen approved the purchase of a 2003 one-and-a-half ton bucket truck in the amount of $42,500 for the city during their regular meeting held Monday, Nov. 26.
Steve Reid stated that a new blower for the sewer plant needs to be purchased. He commented on the complaints that the new chemical in the water is creating. He said the problems should diminish over the next couple of months.
The city crew has been fixing several water leaks in the past two weeks. He said that the Kodiak dump truck has been fixed.
Police Chief Mark Richards reported on activity from Nov. 12-26. Reports Taken/Tickets Given: 1 No Drivers License; 1 Warrant Arrest; 1 Accident; 1 Animal Neglect/Abuse; 1 No Insurance; 1 No Headlights When Driving After Dark. There are six dogs in the pound.
Bills totalling in the amount of $63,446.96 were approved for payment.

During new business, a liquor license for “Lickety Split” was approved upon state licensing. The store is owned by Ron Spidle.

Mr. Johnson is reviewing the employees current life insurance policy. Discussion was held on providing an electrical outlet and parking space for Windstream.
During comments by aldermen, J.D. Dowell had complaints about potholes on Olive Street.
Barry Wood commented on how nice Dockery Park is decorated. He also announced that the Men’s Club is sponsoring a fish fry on Friday, Nov. 30, at the bingo hall from 4-8 p.m. in honor of Roger Loxterman.
Mayor Barb Ballew commented on the hard work that was provided by the Park Board to decorate for Christmas in the park and how nice the event was.
She announced that the employee Christmas dinner would be at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 at Cycles.
Public comments was made about a road ditch in front of a home.
