Superintendent Jim Ruse presented the Gallatin R-5 Board of Education with the 07-08 budget and presented a forecast for the budget next year during their regular meeting held Thursday, Feb. 15.
The Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education accepted the resignation of Chris Gannon, high school principal, and Lois Swope, Title One instructor, after returning from an executive session of their regular meeting held Wednesday, Feb. 21. Mrs. Gannon and Mrs. Swope are both retiring. Their resignations are effective at the end of the school year.

GHS athletes earn GRC distinction
Gallatin athletes chosen for Grand River Conference honors were named this week. They are, front row, Ayrica Batson, Honorable Mention; Courtney Ray, First Team; Wren Tolen, Honorable Mention; back row, Nic Burrell, First Team; Andrew Adkison, First Team Unanimous; and Brett Wilkinson, Honorable Mention.
Kristina Renee Neth of Cameron and Jase Allen Lee of rural Weatherby were married on Oct. 28, 2006, at Cameron Harvester Church by Pastor Sherry Needham.

Shannon and Amy McCrary of Pattonsburg are proud to announce the birth of their first child, a son, Gunnar Morningstar McCrary. Gunnar was born at 8:42 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. He weighed 9 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 21 inches long.
Christina and Shannon Standiford of Maysville proudly announce the birth of a daughter, Justiss Lia Standiford, at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Justiss weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 19 inches long.
