Nearly 2,600 students, including Carrie Samantha Shipers of Pattonsburg, received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in commencement exercises May 7 and 8. Carrie received a doctor of philosophy from Graduate College at UNL.

The Gallatin Police Department will be joining with statewide law enforcement May 24-June 6 for an aggressive "Click It or Ticket" mobilization to crack down on Missouri’s safety belt law violators and to reduce highway fatalities.
Three Piggy Opera was presented by Mrs. Allen’s first grade class on May 11, at Searcy Elementary in Gallatin.

The Pattonsburg Chamber of Commerce recently elected its new board members. The officers are Greg Brown, Judy Horton, Kay Sweat and Rachel Sweiger.
A proposed five-year transportation improvement program presented to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission contains construction awards averaging $500 million per year down from $1.25 billion in the previous program.

May is National Community Action Month. This year, Green Hills Community Action Agency and Community Action Agencies all across the country, will celebrate their history of partnering with other organizations to address poverty related issues in their communities.
