Nilda Johnson, 80, Gallatin, died Aug. 22 at Liberty Hospital.
Memorial services were held Aug. 23 for Frances Hyde, 85, Plattsburg. Mrs. Hyde was born in Coffey.
Ralph Wigfield, 84, Chillicothe, a former Misouir State Representative, died Aug. 22 at a health care center there.
Elgar Teel, 84, Jameson, died Aug. 23 at an area hospital. He was a Coffey area farmer.
The Gallatin Board of Aldermen set the 1999 tax levy at its recent meeting at 82 cents per $100 assessed valuation. The break down is: 59 cents in the general revenue fund; 21 cents for parks and recreation and two cents for the band fund.
