Arland (Slick) Haynes, 96, passed away Saturday Dec. 20 at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23 at the First Christian Church in Gallatin. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contri- butions may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church, Building Fund. Arrangements by McWil- liams Funeral Home in Gallatin.
A memorial service for Nancy Atwood will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Private inurnment will be at Old Scotland Cemetery in Jameson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the cemetery at the funeral home or mailed to P.O. Box 71, Gallatin, Mo.
Nancy Sue Skinner Atwood passed away Dec. 9, 2008, following a two year struggle with cancer.
A memorial service for Victor Lyon was held Saturday at Bethany Memorial Chapel, Bethany. Tributes may be left at: www.bethanymemorialchapel.com.
The funeral services for Janet Hendren Snidow were held Dec. 20, at Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany, with burial in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany. Memorial contributions may be made to Kirkley Chapel Church in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, Mo., 64424.
Funeral services for Winifred Strasser were held Dec. 23 at Stroup-Thompson Funeral Home, Winston. Burial was at the Winston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Winston Baptist Church.
Joe Salmon gave the sewer maintenance report during the regular meeting of the Winston Board of Trustees held Dec. 1. Mr. Salmon stated that it may be necessary to pull one pump; it works on manual immediately after reset, but then has to be reset again the next time. It may be partially plugged up.
First prize in the fourth annual Winston Christmas Lighting Contest was won by Jim and Nancy Caldwell, who will have their electric bill for the month of December paid in full.
Jared Whitt recently graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College with honors in mortuary science.

Stacy Tibbles recently received her master’s degree in reading from Northwest Missouri State University while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average in her undergraduate and graduate studies.
Pvt. Marcus Lacy, a 2005 graduate of Gallatin High School, graduated from basic training on Dec. 17 at Fort Benning, Ga., BCO 2/54 infantry regiment.
