Lisa Showalter among NCMC Students Inducted into Honor Society

Thirty students were recently inducted into the Eta Mu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, including Lisa Showalter of Jamesport. Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society for students at two-year colleges, is the largest honor society in higher education with over two million members. "Good as Gold" was the theme of the program, and Chris Palmer, a regional PTK officer from Longview Community College in Kansas City, gave the induction address. During the ceremony, Dr. Neil Nuttall, President of NCMC, was inducted as an honorary member in recognition of his strong support of the Eta Mu Chapter. Ashley Vaughn. Advisors of the Eta Mu Chapter of PTK on the NCMC campus are Melody Shipley and Tina Totten, and president of the chapter is NCMC student Kallie Walczak of Henry, Illinois.

6th Annual Festival of Trees

Plans are being made for the 6th Annual Festival of Trees in Breckenridge on Dec. 1. This year it will be held in the school gym so everyone can stay warm! Planned activities include: Christmas Craft Fair 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Christmas Story Time, Cookie Walk, Santa’s Workshop, Pictures with Santa and the drawing for decorated trees and wreaths. The Breckenridge Volunteer Fire Department will be providing lunch.

Winston Baptist fall bash, wiener roast and hay ride

The Winston Baptist Church hosted a wiener roast and hay ride at the home of Vernon and Valerie Parman. Jerry and Patty Smith of Union Star furnished the hayride. A team of Belgian horses named Thunder and Lightening pulled the wagon. There were 58 in attendance. Jameson named MCB grand prize winner

Jameson was named the grand prize winner in the Missouri Community Betterment association 2007 competition at the annual banquet in Jefferson City on Oct. 22. After earning first in the small community category comprised of nine towns, Jameson was named the grand prize winner over all 46 communities, large and small, that competed.

Shevy Rose Myrick

Daniel K. Myrick and Stephanie N. Faubion proudly announce the birth of a daughter, Shevy Rose Myrick, born at 3:11 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Shevy weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 19 inches long. She has a brother, Dalton Lee Myrick.

Robert and Jessica Hughs of Trenton proudly announce the birth of a daughter, Savanna Noelle Hughs, born at 12:23 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Savanna weighed 7 pounds, and was 19 3/4 inches long.

Baldwins reaffirm wedding vows

Mr. and Mrs. David and Sherry Bridgeman held a wedding reaffirmation and reception for their daughter, Jennifer, and her husband, Rick Baldwin, of Winston. Rick is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Tammy Baldwin of Winston. Rick and Jennifer were originally married at the Daviess County Courthouse on April 26 and Rick shipped off to the Army boot camp in Fort Leonardwood on April 29.
