A scheduled family visitation for Janie Eads was held Tuesday at McWilliams Family Funeral Home in Jamesport. Graveside rites were held at 2 p.m. (today) Wednesday at Jamesport Masonic Cemetery. The family has asked that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Association in Janie’s memory.

Christmas display honors county soldiers

For the second year in a row Georgia Maxwell and Janie McKinsy of the Daviess County Recorder’s office presented a display at Dockery Park in Gallatin recognizing Daviess County servicemen and servicewomen. Names of the soldiers are printed on a star and hung on an evergreen tree in the park.

Meningococcal vaccine available

The Daviess County Health Department would like to notify all parents of children ages 11-20 that the Menactra (Meningococcal) Vaccine is available until April 2007 due to an overstock.

Roof repairs to elementary remains concern at R-3

During their regular meeting held Monday, Dec. 11, the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education heard that a roofing consultant is continuing to gather information from contractors regarding the roof repairs at the elementary school. More information may be available for the January board meeting.
