Two tractor trailers were demolished in a collision which blocked northbound I-35 in a construction zone on March 31 in Clinton County, approximately four miles northeast of Lathrop.

Both semis were northbound when one slowed for traffic and was struck from behind. The driving lane was already blocked by construction.
One driver, Ricky Huffman, 53, of LaCrescent, MN, was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The other driver, Terry Franksain, 54, of Traer, IA, declined medical treatment. Huffman was the driver of the truck which struck the rear of the truck driven by Franksain.
The accident was investigated by the Highway Patrol, and the Clinton County Sheriff’ Office.
