Spring cleanup day in Pattonsburg was set for May 10 by the city council during a public meeting held March 15. A similar cleanup day for the fall season has been set for Sept. 20.
In other business, council members voted to contract with Daviess County PWSD #1 for water on a proposal as presented.
A request from a water customer suffering a water leak to reduce the water bill was discussed. By unanimous vote, the council agreed to allow the customer make payments until the bill is paid in full (no reduction).
An adjustment on billing to the Senior Center for snow removal was approved.
A mower purchase bid by Terry Implement Company which included a trade was accepted for $5,999. A bid for a compact track loader was tabled. The city is advertising to sell a John Deere backhoe with bids due by April 12.
An inquiry concerning a land purchase was tabled in order to secure more information.
An update by LMI Survey reports receipt of 127 surveys from the 150 sent out; Sarah Golden will arrive soon to collect the surveys.
Council members voted to pay $425 each for Krystyna Sperry and Karen Shepherd to attend the grant writing course in Kansas City on April 15-16.
A 45-minute session closed to the public was conducted to discuss personnel. Board members voted a 50-cent per hour raise for employees Krystyna Sperry and Karen Shepherd. Wages for employees Brandon Burkhead and Adam Albert remain the same until the new water contract with Daviess County PWSD #1 has been finalized.
Those attending the March 15 meeting were board members Lonnie Luke, Kelly Hughes, Dustin Sperry, Sandra Woodring; employees Adam Albert, Karen Shepherd, Krystyna Sperry, and Brandon Burkhead. Mayor Edmon Howard was absent.
The next meeting of the Pattonsburg city council will be at 7 p.m. on April 12.
