As part of an angling course at Central College in Pella, IA, students cooperated with Marion County Conservation to place 300 trees connected to cinder blocks on the ice at Roberts Creek. This will create a sustainable habitat for fish in Lake Red Rock once the ice melts.
This angling class is considered an exercise science course. The project was meant to help students understand global sustainability.
