For the second time in her FFA career, Jenna Rains, Gallatin FFA President, has placed in the top three at state public speaking. Jenna participated in the fall speaking event for the Missouri Young Farmers/Young Farm Wives (YF/YFW) interest group and qualified for state competition. The state speaking contest was held virtually in February, and Jenna presented her speech to a panel of judges that represented the interest group; her speech discussed advocating for agriculture after high school. Jenna discussed how the YF/YFW group does this very thing in our state and nation. Jenna spoke for nearly seven minutes and then answered five minutes worth of questions. Results were announced and she placed third in the state. Jenna has previously placed second in the Missouri Cooperatives state speech contest. Jenna is the daughter of Beth and Lance Rains of Gallatin. She is a senior at GHS, and also serves as the Area II FFA Historian.
