William Downey, 87, Hamilton, passed away on Jan. 23. Bill resided in Gallatin for a short time but lived in Hamilton most of his life.

Bill was born on June 25, 1933, in Gallatin to Chester William and Mildred (Whorton) Downey. He entered the military in 1953 and served in the army until 1955.
Bill was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Bills and Betty Jean Downey; brother, Jimmy Dale Downey; and a stillborn child.
Survivors include wife, Carolyn; daughters, Debra (Mike) Simerly, Judy (Steve) Trimm, and Jennifer Wiegers; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jarol Downey.
A celebration of life service was held Jan. 28, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
