Following a closed session for discussion of personnel, board member Jesse Bird motioned to add a year to Dr. Copple’s contract through June 30, 2024. Tim Bradford seconded, and the vote carried 7-0.

The board was also presented with two resignations. The first was high school math teacher Courtney Ray’s resignation as varsity softball coach at the end of the 2020-21 school year. The second resignation was from Kelli Milholland, art teacher at Covel D. Searcy Elementary, at the end of the current school year. The board unanimously accepted the two resignations.

Dr. Bryan Copple presented his report, then reviewed the Green Hills Regional Planning – Hazard Mitigation Plan for Daviess County. The board approved the Daviess County Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Carrie Crouse and Deanna Wiederholt each presented a counselor’s report.

Members present approved payment of the January 2021 bills except for one check. That check was later approved to be paid with one abstention. The meeting convened at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:25 p.m. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m.
