This fall the Gallatin FFA applied for a mini-grant to help supplement the backpacks of students in need in the high school. The Missouri FFA along with Missouri Farms Care put out the grant application and agreed to match the funds of any FFA Chapter, up to $300, to help with food insecurity within the community. FFA Officers decided to apply the money to the high school Backpack Buddies food pantry. This pantry supplies food for high school students over the weekend or during holidays. The $600 was used to purchase items and officers worked to unload and stock the shelves of the high school food pantry once the items arrived. ~ Caragan Baker, reporter
