A 19-year-old Texas man, Franko Herardo Reyes Rodriguez of San Antonio, was arrested Oct. 19 after striking a guardrail on I-35. After the crash, Rodriguez continued to drive the vehicle until it caught fire.

Rodriguez showed signs of impairment on all field sobriety tests conducted by Trooper M. Cline and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was taken to Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail on a 24-hour hold pending charges.
On Oct. 19, he was charged with misdemeanors of careless and imprudent driving, leaving scene of accident, DWI, no valid license possession of marijuana, and failure to maintain financial responsibility, and a license plate infraction. Bond was set at $5,000.
