Joshua R. Schmidt, 17, Gallatin, is accused of sexual abuse of a 6-year-old. Schmidt and his siblings were placed in the home of the alleged victim by the children’s division. Schmidt is accused of molesting the child on Sept. 26. Forensic interviews of the victim were conducted on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.

Schmidt was cooperative in the forensic interview, according to the interviewer, but he identified the 6-year-old female as the sexual aggressor.

Schmidt was arrested Oct. 19. He posted bond of $5,000 and was ordered to have no contact with the victim or victim’s family or any minor, supervised by Supervision Services. He was arraigned on Oct. 20.
