A Breckenridge man received minor injuries when his combine was struck by a semi at about 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 29, in Livingston County, at County Road 405, about one mile west of Mooresville.
Curt Shonk, 60, Breckenridge was driving a 2004 John Deere Combine. Daniel Deal, 72, Kansas City, was driving a 2014 Volvo tractor-trailer.
According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred as both vehicles were westbound on Hwy. 36. The semi attempted to pass the combine and struck the driver’s side rear tire. The combine traveled into the median and overturned onto its side. The semi traveled off the north side of Hwy. 36 and came to rest on its wheels in the ditch.
Mr. Shonk received minor injuries and was taken by Chillicothe EMS to Hedrrick Medical Center.
