North Daviess will hold Trunk or Treat at 1 p.m. on Oct. 28, in the school parking lot.
Other things decided at the Sept. 14 meeting of the R-3 school board were the approval of bus routes and the SPED (Special Education) Compliance plan.
The graduation date was set for May 14, 2021.
The policies that were tabled at the August meeting were not mandatory, therefore, were not adopted.
Transportation update was given. The district did not qualify for the free bus grant.
Updates on athletic activities were given. R-3 has two girls in junior high softball; one girl in varsity softball; and three boys in varsity baseball. Junior high basketball practices start next week at Gilman City.
During administrative reports, Principal Kelly Hightree noted that enrollment is now at a total of 47, with 1 in preschool, 17 in elementary, and 29 in junior high and high school.
Second year teacher training is now all ‘virtual’ with Jesse Crump attending those and Pat Johnson as his mentor.
School pictures were Sept. 9.
FFA has had sales representatives visit with the students about fall sales. Jostens will be here Sept. 29 for the sophomores and seniors.
There will be a mobile food pantry at the school from 10-12 on Sept. 23 in the parking lot.
The board went into executive meeting to discuss employee and student matters.
Next board meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Oct. 19.
Board members present were Paul Caven, Amy McMahon, Natalie May, David Lainhart, Jim Duly, and Jason Lewis. Also present were Superintendent Dan Street, Charlotte Claussen, and Principle Kelly Hightree.
