The Jamesport City Council accepted a bid from Shuler Concrete that would complete the street project on Main Street. The bid was for $7,820.
Wayne Scott discussed the need for more availability for electricity on the park grounds as it is becoming difficult to supply electricity to all the vendors who set up during the summer activities. The city clerk will discuss the issue with Davey Davis, park board president.
Scott also advised the council that there is an abandoned property south of his place that is housing skunks, raccoons and opossums and these varmints are becoming a nuisance.
Sylvia Ableidinger brought to the council’s attention that a portable building has been placed on her neighbor’s property and a couple is living in it with an extension cord servicing their electricity. She also advised that a mother and daughter were living in a tent on the neighboring property. Both abodes were without proper water and wastewater facilities.
A salary ordinance was read twice and approved.
The above are the unapproved minutes of the Jamesport City Council held July 13 at city hall. Members in attendance were Brandon Robb, Geoff Eads, Gary Alexander, and Rob Murphy.
