Carl Gene Ellis, 75, Stanberry, died June 19, 2020 at an Albany hospital.
Carl was born March 13, 1945 in Pattonsburg, the son of Lewis and Alice (McDaniel) Ellis.
Carl graduated from Pattonsburg High School in 1963.
Carl and Emily Popplewell were married on July 22, 1984 and lived in Albany, before moving to Stanberry in 1998.
Carl worked for 21 years at Pattonsburg Manufacturing. In 1983, he went to work at Lawson Equipment in Stanberry where he was service manager for 21 years. He then worked at Johnson Controls until his retirement in 2010. Carl drove a Stanberry school bus for five years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stanberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sisters; brothers, Junior and Dale Ellis; and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Emily; children, Keith (Tonia) Ellis, Wesley (Angie) Ellis, Travis (Courtney) Ellis, Tanya (Mike) Bartlett, and Jennifer (Randy) Widener; sister, Mary Bubb; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Carl Ellis were held June 22, at the First Baptist Church, Stanberry, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery, Pattonsburg. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Cemetery and/or Stanberry First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
