Breanne Brammer is the state winner for the Missouri Teach Ag Lesson Plan Contest. Brammer designed a unique lesson as a part of the yearly competition which is held during National Teach Ag Day. The goal of the Teach Ag Lesson Plan Contest is for teachers to design creative lessons that educate students about the need for agriculture education teachers and the career opportunities in agriculture education. There is currently a national shortage of agriculture education teachers. Brammer’s lesson was titled “Linked in to Teach Ag Ed” and can be accessed on www.moteachag.org. The lesson can be used as a resource for other agriculture teachers. She was awarded $300 which she plans to use in her classroom.
According to the National Teach Ag Campaign, “National Teach Ag Day is designed to encourage others to teach school-based agriculture and recognize the important role that agriculture teachers play in our schools and communities. National Teach Ag Day is a part of the National Teach Ag Campaign, an initiative of the National Council for Agricultural Education, led by the National Association of Agricultural Educators. The ninth annual National Teach Ag Day celebration will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2020.”
Brammer is a fourth-year agriculture education teacher at Salisbury High School where she has been employed since graduation from the University of Missouri. In college, she was selected as a National Teach Ag Ambassador through the National Teach Ag Campaign. The Teach Ag Day lesson plan contest is sponsored by the Missouri Retired Ag Teachers Association.
Breanne, a Gallatin High School graduate, is the daughter of Dennis and Kim Brammer of Gallatin.
