Winton teachers and other school employees received a raise during the meeting of the Winston Board of Education held May 18.
The R-VI Board approved the 2020-2021 Salary Schedule, which was increased by $300 per step. This increased the base on the salary schedule to $31,300. Teachers were also given an average $390 step movement on the salary schedule.
Salaries for non- certified employees and certified employees not on the salary schedule were increased by 2%.
The board continued the $440 contribution to district health insurance which was raised in February by $75 per month.
The 2020-2021 budget was discussed with no action taken.
Bid for construction of more parking were reviewed with no action taken.
The board increased bus driver activity trip pay to $13 per hour.
The board approved the purchase of a new Elementary ELA Curriculum for grades kindergarten through sixth.
In closed session the board offered a special education summer school contract to special education teacher Nichole Polley.
The board approved the following extra duty positions: athletic director Dustin Figg, FBLA Rylin Purdun, federal programs Pam Madison, FFA Katie Martin, high school student council Dustin Figg, junior high boys basketball Curtis May, junior high girls basketball Josh Junco, music Brittany Klever, NHS Krissy Lee, policy coordinator Linda Warford, varsity boys basketball assistant Curtis May, varsity boys basketball Eric Lewis, varsity girls basketball Josh Junco, varsity girls softball Dustin Figg, varsity track Dustin Figg, web design Linda Warford, and yearbook sponsor Stephanie Madison.
