All non-certified positions, coaching, and advisory positions for the 2020-21 school year were offered at Gallatin R-5.
Letters of resignation were also accepted during the April 16 meeting of the R-5 Board of Education. Resignations were from Theresa Thompson, cook at the high school, and Shannon McBroom, kindergarten teacher. Kelsey Peterson, a third-grade teacher, will move to a position as kindergarten teacher. A third-grade teacher position was offered to Jessica DeVaul.
The reorganization of the Gallatin R-5 Board of Education was held with Board Secretary Vicki Corwin administering the Oath of Office to newly elected board members Tim Bradford, Jeff Donovan, and Amy Heldenbrand and to appointed board member Anita Riley.
Jeff Donovan was elected as president of the school board, Donovan abstained; Trent Dowell was elected as vice president, Dowell abstained; Vicki Corwin as board secretary; and Lesli Lin as board treasurer. Jeff Donovan was approved for the MSBA delegate.
The 20-21 membership to MSBA was approved.
Superintendent Dr. Bryan Copple discussed technology needs for the district.
The fuel contract with MFA was accepted.
A one-year contract was entered to co-op with Tri-County R-7 School District for the 20-21 high school baseball and middle school football season.
The board entered closed session for discussing personnel and student matters.
