Daviess County has a second confirmed positive COVID-19 patient according to Cheryl Alexander, Administrator at the Daviess County Health Department.
The Daviess County resident is currently in isolation in their home and the person is in regular contact with Health officials. Due to HIPAA regulations the health department will not release the person’s name. All close contacts to the case have already been notified and if you have not been notified, then you are not a close contact.
The Daviess County Health Department has been preparing for this situation locally and is taking the appropriate action under the proper local, state, and federal guidance.
The public should continue to follow the protocols issued by the Daviess County Health Department for slowing the spread of Coronavirus.
• Cover coughs or sneezes with your elbow. Do not use your hands.
• Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
• Clean surfaces frequently, including countertops, light switches, cell phones, remotes, and other frequently touched items.
• Contain: if you are sick, stay home until you are feeling better.
