Pattonsburg board sets cleanup dates

Date for spring cleanup on May 18 was set by the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen. Fall cleanup will be Sept. 28.
The board entered into closed session. Hiring of an employee was among the items discussed. Brandon Burkhead was hired as a general laborer at $14 an hour, with a probationary period of 90 days. After that health insurance will start. After six months Lager’s retirement will go into effect.
Sealed bids for the 112F CAT motor grader were opened and the board accepted a bid for Rick Findley for $2,800. Two other bids were received: Darrell Teel $501 and Don Sweat $1,000.
The mower trade in bid of $5,399 from Terry Implement was accepted.
A tenant delinquency issue with the Industrial Development Association (IDA) was discussed. The board agreed to have IDA representatives and the tenant attend next month’s meeting to go into closed session to discuss the issue.
There was a special meeting with a closed session March 18 with Lawyer Robert Cowherd to discuss Daviess County PWSD #1 water contract and nuisance ordinance violations. Regular session was to be held before the closed session.
Health insurance for employees was renewed.
Monthly reports were approved, and bills paid.
A letter would be sent to Advance Disposal about the complaints the city has received regarding the damage to the roads due to the trash truck.
The farmland lease agreement with Dean Leeper, Brennan Leeper, and Drayson Leeper has been signed. Half of the payment has been made. The other half will be paid on April 1.
A letter would be sent to Cole Dilley concerning damage to a decorative light pole on Central Avenue. The cost to replace is $1,750.
Next meeting is April 13.
