The worldwide coronavirus epidemic has taken another event casualty in our own back yard.
Officials from Missouri Lions District 26-M6 have announced that the District 26-M6 All-
Star Basketball Classic, scheduled for June 5-6 at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, has been cancelled due to continued effects of the coronavirus.
According to a news release, concerns were that either NCMC or the Grundy County Health Department might step in and cancel the games. Lions officials were also justly concerned that parents might not allow their athletes to participate in the games.
The main purpose of the games, which began in 1992, is to raise money for scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
