Two people from out-of-state were involved in an accident on I-35 at about 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 21. According to the highway patrol, Johnathan Peterson, 44, Indianola, IA, was driving a 2003 Ford F150 southbound. Troy Holt, 53, Lena, LA, was driving a 2020 Kenworth northbound.
Holt traveled into the median, struck an embankment, became airborne, and traveled into the southbound lane of I-35. Holt’s Kenworth struck the towed unit of Peterson’s Ford F150 and traveled off the west side of the roadway. The pickup came to a controlled stop on the shoulder, facing south. The semi came to rest off the west side of the roadway, facing west.
Holt was taken by NTA ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany with minor injuries. He was wearing his seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. N.A. Regan, assisted by Trooper M.W. Neely.
