The Daviess County Sheriff’s Awards Ceremony was held Dec. 21, 2019. Awards were given out by Chief Deputy Larry Adams.
Acknowledgement and a Life Saving Award were given to Deputy Jared Hogan for effectively putting into action his CPR lifesaving skills to save an individual earlier this year.
Acknowledgement and an Acts of Heroism award were given to three fine gentlemen, Jaycine Gamm of Gladstone, Rick Shannon of Smithville, and a third hero who continues to remain anonymous, all of whom acted to preserve life without hesitation during the shooting of a Trenton police officer in Winston.
Farewells were given to Sergeant Robert Mazur and Deputy Caleb Ireland. Sgt. Mazur has taken the position of Circuit Court Marshal for the 43rd Judicial Circuit of Missouri. Deputy Caleb Ireland was acknowledged for his great service and commitment to the Daviess County Sheriff’s office during his tenure. Sheriff Ben Becerra and his department extend best wishes to these two officers.
