3 vehicles wreck; 2 waiting for bus to load children

At about 6:50 a.m. on Jan. 8, in DeKalb County, two people were injured in an accident while waiting for a school bus to load.
According to the highway patrol, the crash occurred as Donald Jennings, 53, Bethany, and Jason Estes, 45, Winston, were stopped on southbound Hwy 69, about three miles north of Cameron.
Christopher Nelson, 60, Jameson, was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 southbound. He failed to observe the vehicles and collided with the rear of Jennings’ vehicle. Jennings’ 2005 Buick Lacrosse was pushed off the west side of the roadway and came to rest on its wheels in the ditch, facing north. Nelson then collided with the rear of Estes’ vehicle. Estes’ 2018 Ford F-150 and Nelson’s pickup came to rest on their wheels on southbound Hwy. 69, facing south.
Nelson and a passenger in his vehicle, Dylan Nelson, 22, Jameson, were both transported by Cameron Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Nelson’s pickup was totaled; Jennings’ Buick was totaled; Estes’ pickup had minor damage.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. S.J. Cool, assisted by Tpr. B.T. Quiring.
The bus was not involved in the accident, according to the report.
