Graveside services and burial for Robert Eads will be held at a later date at Prairie Valley Cemetery in Gallatin. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin.
Robert D. Eads, 83, Independence, died Dec. 18, 2019, at his home in Independence.
Robert was born on April 13, 1936, the son of Russell and Sylvia (Swofford) Eads in Gallatin. He was a graduate of Gallatin High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Robert obtained degrees in mathematics and animal husbandry. While attending college he was a member of the FarmHouse fraternity. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He was united in marriage to Debra Elliott.
Mr. Eads was preceded in death by his wife, Debra; parents; and daughter, Kelly Eads.
Survivors include son, Dennis Eads of Kansas City; daughter, Sue Lynn Thomas of Manhattan, NY; son, Robin (Tammi) Eads of Columbia; daughter, Sally (James) Kirkpatrick of Gallatin; brother, John of Independence; sister, Jean Heman of Green Castle; sister, Mary (Louis) Holbrook of Gallatin; sister, Karen (Danny) Critten of Gallatin; five grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
