Memorial service for Milburn Stooksburg was held Dec. 30 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Inurnment followed in the Old Brick Cemetery, Albany. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Milburn “Lucky” Stooksbury memorial fund to help with funeral expenses.
Milburn “Lucky” Stooksbury, 66, died Dec. 26, 2019, at a Liberty hospital.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1953, in Kansas City, the son of Rowland and Nellie (Kelley) Stooksbury.
He married April Smith on March 13, 2003. He was a truck driver, working for Prime Tanning in St. Joseph, Hurricane Services in Madison, and also ran Flint Hills truck driving school with his wife April.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in law, Lavern Preston; daughter-in-law, Krissy Brogan; and granddaughter, Gwennie Corbin.
Survivors include his wife, April, Bethany; children, Lucky Stooksbury, Kearney, Jeff Brogan, Gallatin, Danny (Danielle) Stooksbury, Lakewood Ranch, FL, Nathan Smith, Bethany, Wendy (Matt) Thomas, Smithville, Missy (Michael) Clark, Germany, Tracy Parker, Bradenton, FL, and Carrie Corban Ottawa, KS; brother, Ron (Peggy) Stooksbury, Albany; sisters, Connie Preston, Albany, Darlene (Hank) Stahl, Maysville, and Betty (Larry) Sorensen, Albany; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
