To support their fellow classmate, Officer Jasmine Diab, after she was injured in the line of duty, the Criminal Justice Club at North Central Missouri College started collecting donations on June 18 for her education expenses. To date, over $2,200 has been raised to help her continue her education at NCMC. Officer Diab has been enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at NCMC since 2018.
Office Diab was injured near the Winston Pit Stop in June 2019 when a prisoner she was transporting gained control of her firearm and shot her in the abdomen.
“We thank the many individuals who believe in and support Jasmine while she recovers and who also want to assist her in her educational journey,” commented Criminal Justice Instructor Jenna Vandel. “We want to see Jasmine back on campus as soon as she is ready, and due to the generosity of others, she will have the financial support.”
Donations were handled by the NCMC Foundation, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. For more information on NCMC, the Criminal Justice program, and the NCMC Foundation, please visit www.ncmissouri.edu.
