Gallatin’s Lady Bulldogs continue to experience growing pains in the young 2019-20 season. Putnam County’s Lady Midgets opened Grand River Conference East Division play Tuesday night with a 55-25 victory over Gallatin, signaling the Lady Bulldogs’ fifth loss of the season in six contests to date.
Gallatin trailed by only two points at the end of the first quarter, 7-5, but Putnam County roared to a 25-9 advantage by halftime.
Elle Copple came off the bench to lead the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 6 points. Claire Hemry, Presley Wells and Carli Beck each scored 4 for Gallatin. Madalyn Shubert paced Gallatin with 10 rebounds.
Gallatin fell to Hardin-Central Saturday night in the NCMC Holiday Hoops event. Wells led in scoring with 7 points. Hemry, Shubert and Libby Endicott each tossed in 6 points.
The Lady Bulldogs resume GRC East play Friday night with a trip to Princeton.
