3 cups salted pretzels
2 cups bugles
2 cups Frito corn chips
1 cup Chex mix
1 cup roasted peanuts
1-1/2 cups M&M’s
1 pack of white chocolate bark or melting chocolate
Put the pretzels, bugles, Fritos, Chex mix, peanuts and M&M’s in a large bowl. Place the white chocolate bark in another bowl and microwave for 90 seconds. Stir. If needed, heat an additional 15 seconds until smooth and creamy (Important — watch it carefully as it burns easily and white chocolate is not the cheapest of ingredients). Drizzle melted chocolate over the mixture, stirring to coat all pieces. Take a large cookie sheet (preferably with a rim) and pour the coated mixture onto the sheet and spread out to cool. Break into pieces. Store in airtight container (does not have to be refrigerated). For an extra festive touch, top pieces with crushed peppermint.
By the time you read this our youngest son will have performed his part in “A Christmas Carol” nine of a scheduled 27 times. Whew! The youth cast is going to share as Secret Santas and I think Christmas Reindeer Candy will be great to give along with other gifts. I truly love Christmas and everything it stands for, but I am trying to do things as easily as possible this year. And, to remind myself as much as for anyone else, let’s remember the true reason for the season. Happy December!
