If you see some lights on inside the Winston R-6 School at night … no, staff did not forget and leave the lights on. The school has upgraded to LED lights everywhere. Some of the lights are wired to be on all the time to increase safety and security of the buildings. Besides, the Redbird looks pretty awesome through the front doors at night!

The Winston school board meeting was held Nov. 18 between the girls and boys games.
Applicants for Free and Reduced Lunch from the USDA can still be turned into the office. There is more involved, however, than meals. For each qualified child, your school receives approximately $3,200 in extra Federal and State money. The program is funded by income taxes that you have already paid. This money can be used for instructional materials, textbooks, and other items necessary to improve the education of your children. Every school district is going to get funding. With your help, a larger share will come back to your school district instead of going to a neighboring school.
