Dr. Bryan Copple presented the ACT results for the Gallatin R-5 School District and compared results to previous years at the Nov. 12 meeting of the board of education. The ACT composite for the district was 21.9. The national average is 20.8. The R-5 Board discussed offering the ACT test for all juniors once each year.
Macie McNeely was recognized for performing in the FFA National Chorus.
Reports were presented from Dr. Copple, Principal Burke, Principal Collins, Principal Thogmartin and Activities Director Gann.
Ron Alden and Amy Holder presented their FFA vocational report.
Missouri School Board Association policies and procedures were discussed and several updates were made.
The board entered into closed session for discussing personnel.
The next meeting was set for 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 11.
Board members present were Jesse Bird, Tim Bradford, Pam Critten, Jeffrey Donovan, Trent Dowell, Amy Heldenbrand and Martin Sweatman. Dr. Copple, Principals Burke, Collins, and Thogmartin, and Board Secretary Corwin were in attendance. Others attending were Ron Alden, Amy Holder, Kelsey Peterson and Macie McNeely.
