A local property owner addressed the Altamont Board of Trustees at their Oct. 13 meeting with follow-up information concerning a property line and street shown as vacated on her property. She presented information from a local title company showing a boundary perimeter of said parcel and tax receipts for many years to show ownership.
She asked the board whether the platted street has to be closed if it was never opened. The title company had advised no ownership search was required since she and a co-owner have paid taxes on it throughout the current ownership. The board consensus was that there is no need to do a closing process for the street, based upon information that had been presented to them.
Roger Price informed the board that Finch had completed the well closing per DNR specifications and an invoice is pending.
Trustees reviewed the agenda and agreed to accept as submitted. There was no enforcement information to report.
Snow removal bids were mentioned, and the clerk will run an ad with specific request for bid
requirements, with a deadline for receipt of sealed bids to be at 3 p.m. on Nov. 10. Bids will be opened and read during the next regular board meeting.
There were no public comments. Work order procedures were briefly discussed regarding installations.
The minutes of the Sept. 8 meeting, the financial report, and the expense report were approved by the board.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.
Board members present were Lonnie Norris and Crystal Rogers. Ryan Clark was sick, so he picked up his board packet for current and prior meetings and returned home. Ryan told the group that Karia Jones would be absent. Also present were guests Sue Belsher and Connie Gibson, and Glenda Rogers, Village Clerk.
This information is taken from the minutes of the Oct. 13, 2019, meeting of the Altamont Board of Trustees.
