Lawrence Goldberg and Joseph Weber with Goldberg Group Architects (GGA) distributed a draft proposal to the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail Board, which discussed building a new jail with a reduction to a 165-175 bed facility.
The board members agreed at the Oct. 25 meeting that they would like to see a proposal for improvements to the current facility. Sheriff Becerra reiterated that he would not vote for the construction of a new jail at this time.
The jail board agreed to a feasibility study to be done by Goldberg Group Architects at a meeting held this summer. The feasibility study was to determine whether the jail proceeds with needed upgrades to the current facility or lays the groundwork for a new facility in the future.
Lawrence Goldberg leads GGA and its projects by applying his expertise to the planning and design of the facility. Joe Weber assists GGA clients with evaluating security requirements, needs assessment and staffing.
