Mildred M. Hardin, 85, Gallatin, passed away Oct. 17, 2019, at Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Mildred was born on June 14, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Lola (Taylor) Ramsey in Snowball, AR. On June 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to John Raymond Hardin. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Mildred worked as an advanced personal caregiver for Oxford Healthcare for 20 years, retiring in 2008. She was also a homemaker.
Mildred was the ultimate caregiver. She cared for her clients, family and strangers. Mildred always wanted to be around children. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, cooking, gardening and canning. Mildred was a strong woman of faith. Her home was always open for children that needed it. Mildred will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Ramsey; daughter, Ruby Hostetler; grandson, Arlin McClellen; brother, James Ramsey; sister, Liz Frey.
Survivors include her daughter, Roberta Compton of Jameson; daughter, Cecilia (Jim) Oldham of Springfield; son, Carl Hardin of Jameson; son, John (Marla) Hardin of Urbana; son, Don (Zella) Hardin of Windyville; son, Sam Hardin of Springfield; daughter, Tammy (David) Johnson of Republic; sister, Gloria (Larry) Clingings of Marshall, AR; brother, Homer Lee (Patsy) Ramsey of Nashville; brother, Charles (Donna) Ramsey of Nashville; son-in-law, Steve Hostetler; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other extended family.
Funeral service was held Oct. 22, 2019, at Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Burial was in Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, Pattonsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Civil Bend Christian Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
