Did you know that you may access study materials for guided support and preparation to help you earn a high school equivalency credential, either GED or HiSET, or even the TASC Test assessing secondary completion.
Materials are available through EBSCO Learning Express and accessible from home through the library’s website.
You only need a library card to create an account and then away you go.
Other Learning Express options include Career Preparation with Allied Health Entrance exam and Nursing School Entrance exam preparation skills, Postal Worker Exam practices and eBooks, Corrections Officer Exam prep, CDL Endorsement Exams practice, Plumbers’ License prep, ASWB exam prep for social workers, Cosmetology, Real Estate, Culinary Arts, Electrician, EMT, and the list goes on.
Actual exams are not available; this website provides video tutorials, eBooks, and practice materials for exam preparation.
The library is utilizing the Learning Express for its Adult Computer Seminars on the third Friday, monthly.
Topics include “Get Started with your Computer” and “Get Started with the Internet” as well as “Popular Software Tools,” “Learn Computer Graphics and Illustration” and “Understanding Your Operating System.” This Friday’s session, Oct. 18, is from 1-3 p.m. in the Jan and Curly Johnson Conference Room.
Learning Express was purchased by the library early in 2019 with the hopes of supporting our learning community from home school families through college-bound students, career and job search assistance, to adult computer literacy.
If you would like to know more, contact the library to arrange a one-on-one walk-through of the website.
For more program information, check the calendar on the website www.daviesscountylibrary.org, then “Quick Links/Library Events”, visit the library or call 660-663-3222.
