North Daviess plans to destroy old school bus

The North Daviess R-3 Board of Education discussed plans to comply with DNR guidelines to destroy an old bus at their Sept. 16 meeting. An exchange of labor for the remaining portions of the bus was agreed upon.
The board adopted several policies and regulations. Bus routes were approved, and some possible road improvement projects were discussed.
Special education compliance plans were adopted with updated changes. The minutes of the previous meeting, financial statement, and bills were all approved.
Athletic coop updates were given with one player in JH Softball and five varsity fall baseball players currently.
Graduation date was set for Saturday, May 9, 2020.
Principal Hightree reported attendance at 95.92% for elementary and 97.69% for high school. Enrollment is 62.
Mr. Crump attended trainings for first year mentoring. Dr. Hefley attended a federal program workshop.
FFA held an ice cream social and attended agri-science day in Albany. Their fruit sale fund-raiser is going on now. FFA Food for America will be Friday, Sept. 27.
The school held grandparents day breakfast with over 20 guests.
Superintendent Street reported that dirtwork has been done on the playground addition as well as some dirtwork to fix some drainage issues
The possibility of purchasing a new school vehicle was presented. Intruder training was held on Sept. 20.
An executive session was held.
