Bond denied for Winston man on domestic assault, kidnapping

Dustin Andrew Florez, 32, Winston, was arrested Sept. 3 and transported to Daviess-DeKalb County Regional Jail (DDCRJ). He was charged with domestic assault first degree, A felony, and kidnapping, inflicting injury and terrorizing, first degree, B felony.

According to the probable cause statement, officers responded to a Winston residence at 7:55 a.m. Sept. 3. There the officers found Florez and the alleged victim who had injuries to her face and large amounts of blood on her shirt. Florez was detained in the patrol vehicle.

According to a witness, Florez and the victim had been in a romantic relationship for approximately two years. The victim said she was assaulted by Florez because he thought she was cheating on him.

During an interview of Florez at DDCRJ, he admitted to the assault and that he had smoked methamphetamine approximately 2-3 days prior to the incident.

  • Virginia Ellen Wainright, 22, Lee’s Summit, was arrested and transported to DDCRJ on charges of possession of controlled substance. Bond was denied.

  • Dustin Andrew Florez, 32, Winston, was arrested and transported to DDCRJ on a felony domestic abuse warrant. Bond was denied.

  • Bronson Wildman, 20, Kansas City, was arrested and transported to DDCRJ. He was charged with animal abuse. Bond was set at $15,000.
  • Christopher Middaugh, 40, Cameron, was arrested and transported to DDCRJ, charged with non-support. Bond violation. Bond was denied.
