On the last Saturday of August, people around the world participate in International Play Music on the Porch Day. This year’s event will be held Saturday, Aug. 31,  from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of Farmhouse Collections on Broadway Street in Jamesport.

Now is the time to get out that old instrument you haven’t played in awhile, or head out and get an instrument you have always wanted to play. You have some time to practice and get yourself ready to join other players, new and old.

This will be the fourth year that Jamesport has participated in this worldwide event. Everyone is invited to attend. Play your acoustic instrument, or sing, or listen, but most importantly show up and do music for this one day with all of the rest of the world.
